That was the week that was - March 12th - 19th


Exciting news from the FatsoNoMo front - our team eked out a paltry loss of 1.6 pounds.

However, as limited as our loss was this week.

#1 - it is a loss after all, and

#2 - the 75% of our members who did not lose anything are probably ready to show big losing numbers next week!

Until then, we are feasting on salads, left over quiche and, well, you know the other stuff, like brownies, cookies and ice cream cones from McDonalds in Lake Geneva. I can't figure out why I am not losing more weight.

In the meantime remember - FatsoNoMo forever!!!

One whole week - one little pound

One little pound - The South Side Duo lost a total of 4 pounds while the couple from down the hill gained 3. The rest of our crew stayed the same.

Yikes!

We were doing so well last week and here we are losing less than 2 ounces on average per FatsoNoMo member, this week.

Crazy Eights - FatsoNoMo 2-0-1-0 rides to the rescue!

After a week in which we actually gained weight on balance the stalwart members of the mega-successful, high-tech weight-loss octet came back with a bang!

In grand totality, we lost eight pounds in one week and not one of our number gained any weight.

My enthusiasm is renewed. My physique is diminished as my pride is swelling. I am FatsoNoMo!

Weak Three - Up four!


Two of our number lost weight this week.

However, our esteemed group gained 4 pounds in aggregate

Sadly, 62 1/2% of us gained and 12 1/2% stayed the same.

As I know it is causing great concern among our FatsoNoMo team, I have decided that I will not tell what I am giving up for Lent until next week.

That Was The Week That Was! We grew by 1/3 in members!

The groundswell of enthusiasm continues as the ranks of FatsoNoMo increased by an astonishing 33%, this week.

At this rate we will have over 33 million people in FatsoNoMo by next year at this time. I know that this seems an unrealistic goal, but the math is simple. All we need to do is increase our membership by one third each week and, wa la, at the end of 52 weeks we will have lots of people.

Somewhere along the line, we can institute a small fee of say $1 a day per person to be split evenly between we founding fathers and mothers. As your loyal and selfless Factotum, I would only require a small (as a percentage) weekly stipend for the arduous work I do on behalf of you and the untold millions of new members.

I have finished all of the candy and cookies from the Holidays and, as long as you-know-who does not replenish the supply, I am ready to take off the pounds gained in the last month by doing, well, just by being me and not eating like an idiot.

Anyway, restart letting me know how much you lost or gained every Friday and we will head into the spring on our grand "Quest to Be Less"!

Congratulations to no one!

I have to confess that my diet of homemade candy (peanut clusters, popcorn balls and almond bark), pies (razzle-berry, white chocolate cranberry, pumpkin) and cream of baked potato with bacon soup does not seem to be working in the losing weight department. I can't understand what I am doing wrong.

Oh, I forgot to mention that our daily walks on the lake have been few and far between as we spend most of our time running back and forth from the grocery store to keep our larder well stocked. Talking about larder, my larder is getting larger, whatever that means.

After this week's dismal report, I can't wait to see next week's weights when we have the run-up to Christmas to overcome with sheer will power!

FatsoNoMo to the rescue!!!!!!!!!!

As is clear from the table on the left, we have all done an exemplary job in this the crucial, penultimate phase of the highly-scientific, well-planned and brilliantly executed FatsoNoMo Phase Three.

Toni and I felt so good about our performance, last week, eating salads and peanuts (roughly the diet of monkeys at the Lincoln Park Zoo as I recall) until we were thrown off our path to success by those evil people from Geneseo. The took us, bound and gagged, to Pancho's in Genoa City and forced us to eat burritos and drink Margaritas, last night. However, we have resolved to reinstitute the monkey diet as soon as we return from Chicago on Sunday.

Well, as far as the twosome at the bottom of the hill, we have been eating like Buddhist monks and, if not loving it, at least not minding the good effect it has had in our weight-loss extravaganza.

We are still not exactly where we want to be, but we are moving in the right direction, at least.

Woe is me! Week Two is Weak for Me


I am using this medium as a hint that things are not good at Casa Quinto.

After giving a half, no quarter-way try, this week, both Toni and I gained weight, this week. Toni gained 1.6 pounds and doubled that.

We are going to have a serious talk about our eating habits on the way to Burger King for ice cream this evening. I cannot imagine why we are not losing weight.

Oh well, I will look forward to hearing how everyone else did.

FatsoNoMo rides again!!!!!!!!!

Well, here we are in Phase II of our weight-losing, physique-enhancing, confidence-building, happiness-generating contest!

And, we are all winners as no one gained weight and everyone lost weight.

As for me, I am doubly motivated as I will be speaking in Las Vegas in November. Sean reminded me of the advice I gave him to never do anything that you would not do in front of your mother. Taking this advice to heart, as Sean points out, sort of limits the fun to be had in 'vegas, so we will only be there long enough for me to speak and receive the undying adoration of the crowd and, then, steal all of the soap and shampoo out of our hotel room.

Phase II starts NOW!

Welcome to Phase II of our inaugural FatsoNoMo Fat-reducing, Health-enhancing, Looks-advancing Program laid out according to the precepts of my now world-famous DELI® Diet (Don't Eat Like an Idiot).

We will use whatever weight you are/were on last Friday or today if you did not weigh-in last Friday and, then, mark the change as of this coming Friday.

Phase I was a great success with dozen(s) of pounds lost. Phase II will be even better!

Beer has carbs?

Well, my new weight is currently 5lbs heavier then before. This is sad to have gained weight, but worth it. I'm slowly getting back on the right track, but find it so much easier to keep gaining. like I said before, I may loose some battles but will not loose the war. Congrats to you people who lost weight, I wish the best in weight loss for you. (but right now I hate you)

I had hoped that my stunning picture of Fritz the Wonder Dog would have resulted in their taking pity on us and had an extra cone or two so as not to embarrass us (particularly me).

it's on

This Grande groom has had his new scale for a little over a week and is proud to report a loss of 8lbs. I got the old school scale that uses a analog vs. digital. Apparently the people in the digital scale industry are prejudice against fat people. The buxom bride and I are still fighting the good fight; we have lost a few battles here and there but we will certainly win the war.
Glad to hear about everyone else, keep on tuckin'.

As for those of us down the hill, we had a very disciplined week.

However, we have not done such a great job this weekend and will have to redouble our efforts, next week.
